World Air Show MAKS-2009 opened in Russia
August 18. The World Air Show MAKS-2009 has recently opened in Zhukovsky (Russia). 711 companies from 34 countries worldwide will take part in the show.
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin when speaking at the opening ceremony suggested a minute of silence in memory of the Commander of the «Russian Knights» group, who died in a training flight before the show.
Traditionally, a large number of international contracts are signed during MAKS air show. Today, it was reported that the Russian agency ROSKOSMOS signed the contract with the German Space Agency DKR on the joint work on the X-ray telescope eROSITA for space research.
