Mr. Tomas Bertelman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Russia, answers the questions of the P&S.

P&S: Mr Morozov, you are not just one of the leaders of the Russian Parliament, not only have you been member of all Russian Dumas, you are also responsible for European relations in the Duma. In this connection, what is your opinion of the meeting of young Europeans that started on May 15 in Perm?

P&S: In mid May Perm will host a summit of young Europeans. Our web site has published an announcement of this extraordinary event but P&S readers are asking for more information. As Head of the PIT Fund, you are in charge of the practical organization of this forum. So could you please tell us what this youth summit is, why it is held in Perm and why it is held at this time?

P&S: What is your general assessment of the energy dialogue between Russia and the EU?
Mr. Yazev: Energy dialogue with Russia launched by the European Union in October 2000 was in fact the recognition of the strategic need to retain and to develop the energy partnership between Russia and Europe instituted more than 40 years ago.

Our interlocutor is Mr. Konstantin Kosachev, a well-known Russian politician and international affairs expert, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Chairman of the Russian Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, President of the European Club of the Russian Parliament.

P&S: Can you possibly summarize a European vision of making business in Russia currently, in a short term and in a midterm perspective?
Mr.Hartmann: First of all, thank you for the opportunity to share the thoughts and vision of the Association of European Businesses on the issue of making business in Russia – and for the way in which we can all add to the efforts already carried out to strengthen the connections between Russia and the EU.
